Cardi B, Missy Elliott And More Rappers Among The MTV VMA Winners

Yesterday evening the whole musical world was watching the MTV Video Music Awards and waiting for the big winners. The show offered many surprises and gave the audience the entertainment they were all wishing for. The ceremony took place in Presidential Center Hall, which is located in Newark.

This was the 36th edition of the awards, which was organized in the state of New Jersey for the first time this year. The host Sebastian Maniscalco – an Italian born comedian and the stand-up actor gave the good mood to the guests during the whole evening.

Many big and not so big names were nominated and win in their categories. Cardi B received great recognition for the “Money“ visuals in the best hip-hop category. The single was released on October 2018 and brought huge success to Bardi and Atlantic Records, which produced and released it.

The video is very bold and somehow made with taste, giving its message to the audience.

It is not the first worldwide successful project of the female rapper. In 2017 she won on five of the categories on the BET Hip Hop Award, and another four at the same ceremony the next year. Later she received Grammy nominations and won 2.

Another big winner was Megan Thee Stallion for the single “Hot Girl Summer“.

The hit features Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign and won in the category for Best Power Anthems. It is a new category, added this year for the first time, together with two more – for best group and best summer song. All of them are voted from the fans, so congratulation girls. Girl power!

 

 

With no doubts, the Veteran in hip-hop music and all favorite Missy Elliot took the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

It is recognition for special acclaims in music, films and performance, given only to artists with great influence and achievements. And Missy is with no doubt such a recognizable artist.

The Vanguard Award was founded in 1984 and lately renamed to Michael Jackson in 1991. It is the only statue on the Video Music Awards that is gold-plated. All the others are silver.

It is unique admiration to the artists, directors and performers, who have made something extraordinary and outstanding. That is why it’s not given every year. So congratulations Missy Elliot, no one deserves it more than you do. Check her performance:
