The hip-hop legend and pioneer Biz Markie (real name Marcel Theo Hall) have reportedly died at the age of 57.
According to TMZ, the rapper, songwriter, DJ, and producer lost his long battle with diabetes Type 2 and the unexpected complications caused by it on Friday (July 16) at a Baltimore, Maryland hospital. The sources say Biz’s wife Tara Hall was right next to him in his last moment.
Biz Markie was fighting the disease for a while but he has been taken to the hospital last year after complications. While this was not the first time he’s spending some time in the hospital, it all ended up bad.
The “Just a Friend” mastermind suffered a stroke while being in a diabetic coma, which is the reason Biz was taken into the rehabilitation facility before his death.
There were rumors for Biz Markie’s death earlier this year, which were later proved false by his friends and family, but now the hip-hop world lost a pioneer.
Rest in peace Biz, prayers to his family.
