Cam’ron drops a new video for his track “Medellin” from his 2019 LP “Purple Haze 2“. The video was shot in Roberto Escobar’s house, brother of Pablo Escobar. In the new clip, there is also some footage in Pablo’s house which is now turned museum.
Cam’ron shares a story of how it all ended up shooting a music video for “Medellin” in Escobar’s estate in Colombia. In a recent interview with Complex, Killa Cam revealed how easy was to connect with the Escobar family.
It was all been settled up very quickly and the reason was Roberto Escobar got some love for the rappers, according to Cam. Friend of the NY-bred rapper connected him with R. Escobar and almost two months later it was all ready.
The video for track named after the infamous “Medellin Cartel” is directed by Cameron Giles and Brendan Cochrane. At the beginning of the visuals, Roberto Escobar and Cam’ron having a conversation with the help of a translator. Escobar than shows love and hospitality.
“This is your house, this is your country, enjoy it,” Roberto says in the video.
All the scenes are taken in Medellin, Colombia as we see Cam’ron dropping his bars surrounded by local people. All of them showing love to the late “King of Cocaine” and his family.
