D Smoke premiered the new video for his collaboration with Snoop Dogg – “Gaspar Yanga”. The track is from Smoke’s debut LP “Black Habits”
Directed by Sergio Maldonado, the video shows the young rapper getting shot by a drug dealer. After he’s back on his feet, D Smoke meets Snoop Dogg for some help. After fast recovery, the Inglewood rapper takes his revenge on his enemies.
The video has a deeper meaning than you first thought. The song is named after African Prince Yanga who won his freedom in 1618. Prince Yanga was slaved and then named Gaspar, after years of fights with conquerors, Yanga won his freedom and of his people. This is the main idea of the track, to fight the injustice and your enemies.
Gaspar Yanga is track full of interesting facts, the Co-producer of the track Nick Sarazen implemented vocals of old Bulgarian folklore and traditional music of the European country for the choruses.
