Today June 24, 2022, is a historical day for the hip-hop culture in general as Eminem and Snoop Dogg drop their first collaborative single “From The D To The LBC“.
“This prolly shoulda happened a while ago” Eminem starts the track.
The Shady-produced track finds the two rap icons giving the fans a masterpiece, a surprise, and a long-awaited collaboration. The new song’s name speaks of itself as the rappers are paying homage to their representative cities – Detroit, Michigan (313) and Long Beach, California (213).
Putting aside their past misunderstandings that almost turned into beef, the track is more than a new song by two of the biggest names in rap music. It’s a union of two legends.
Make the long story short. It all started back in 2020 when Snoop revealed his top 10 rappers list and didn’t include Eminem in it. Then in January 2021 when Eminem dropped his “MTBMB Side B” album where fans could hear Shady dissing Snoop in the “Zeus” track. Later on, the story develops and while there were rumors of an upcoming response from Snoop, the OG proved his status in the rap game and spoke about his relationship with Em – “We good”.
Back to the new track. “From The D To The LBC” came accompanied by a new official video directed by James Larese. Starting with Eminem and Snoop Dogg in the studio recording the track with some hilarious situations. A big part of the visuals is focused on the popular NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club. The new track was presented a couple of hours before the official release at the 2022 Ape Fest that took place on June 23 in NYC.
