Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist join forces once again for their second collaborative album “Alfredo” and new single “1985”. After Twitter exploded by rumors for the new Freddie x Alchemist piece of art, Shazam helped fans to find out it’s really happening, giving out the names of the tracks prior to the release.
The first single off of “Alfredo” was rumored to be a collaboration with Rick Ross. While Rozay’s contribution is yet not revealed (can’t wait to hear it), Gibbs and The Alchemist shared the lead single “1985” which came along with Nick Walker-directed video.
The rapper and the producer worked together back in 2018 for their “Fetti” project. The new “1985” track proves Freddie and Al still doing it with the same passion. It sounds like both artists are used to each other’s style so much, they make the perfect team.
In the 1985 video, we see The Alchemist and Freddie Gibbs meet up in the middle of the desert, starting with a short conversation. Judging by their outfit, the action took place in 1985. Just like in his last LP “Bandana“, Freddie’s videos revealing a short story, who knows, maybe the next visuals will be connected.
