The stories of the above-mentioned, who paved the way for the likes of Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, Nipsey Hussle & More will be backed up by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, The Game, Run-DMC, Ice T, T.I. and many more.
The series, which is expected with much anticipation in the hip-hop world, is planned to come out officially on February 12. The documentary will include exactly six episodes that will be aired two times a week for the next three weeks.
A trailer is already available. As Snoop Dogg says in the film “The best music is made when there is a struggle.” And that is the line that “Hip Hop Uncovered” is following.
The director of “Hip Hop Uncovered” Rashidi Natara Harper followed several life stories to prove his point. Besides the fact that these people were pulling many careers along the way, they also managed to take another big transition. It is a well-known fact that before entering the musical business, Christian “Trick Trick“ Mathis, Eugene “Big U” Henley, and the others were involved in drug dealing.
The situation on the streets during these times is projected with keeping no secrets at all. It is a deep view of the situation, which is provoking many thoughts and raising even more questions. The years that are taken as the basis for the documentaries are those times when the streets of New York, Detroit, Los Angeles, and other big cities were totally flooded with heroin. Those were the times when many young lives were lost and others took the very wrong direction.
