Cole Releases Sixth Studio Album The Off-Season f/ 21 Savage, Lil Baby & More
The news for the new album released by J. Cole is circling social media since the last week. Cole is finally back with a new full-length project after three years of silence. The Dreamville Records boss hopped on Instagram last week to surprise the fans with the announcement of an upcoming album and released a brand new single Interlude.
The symbol of this new awaking and cover art for the album is the flaming basketball loop in front of which he is standing in the picture. It will not be too much to say that the basketball theme is not for the first time appearing in his work. You can see it on The Warm Up, The Come Up and The Cole World: The Sideline Story.
The first track to lift the curtain for the new album was Interlude. The release of the Off-Season is also accompanied by a small documentary called “Applying Pressure: The Off-Season”. It tells the story and the ideas which serve as an inspiration for J. Cole when he made his new album.
The project comes with 12 new tracks with features of 21 Savage, Lil Baby and more. For the production of the album, Cole taps Timbaland, Boi-1da, DJ Dah, T-Minus and Tae Beats among others.
In other news, it is reported that Cole has recently signed a deal with Basketball Africa League and especially Rwanda’s Patriots. It is not a whole season deal, but only several games as the first one is planned to be this Sunday (May 16).
Another thing he did lately is to appear on the cover of Slam magazine. This made him the first rapper to do that in the history of the media. In the interview, he shares that he is not ready to mark the end of his musical career through many said The Fall Off is expected to be his last album.
