Lauryn Hill Follows 2Pac, Biggie & Eminem With First Diamond Album
The history is being written with Lauryn Hill’s new achievement of becoming the first female Emcee with a diamond album.
“The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” was certified Diamond by RIAA on Tuesday (February 16) and that makes the classic released almost 23 years ago on August 25, 1998, the first diamond album from a female rapper.
RIAA announced the good news on their official Twitter page, celebrating the major success of Lauryn Hill and Black History Month.

The New Jersey-born rapper releases her debut “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” under Columbia Records and marks the music industry with her blueprint forever. Since its debut, the album peaks at number one at Billboard. The achievement is followed by winning in categories such as Album Of The Year and many more.
