Outkast legend Big Boi will executively produce the new crime series titled ‘Government Records’ starring DMX, Rakim, Pepa, Big Daddy Kane, and more.
“I’ve teamed up with Chris DeBlasio at 850 Entertainment on a project called Government Records, / It’s going to be big! Can’t wait to get things moving” – Big Boi said in a press release.
According to the reports, the TV show is already in development. Big Boi who will co-executively produce the ‘Government Records’ crime series with Chris DeBlasio, will also appear in the first season accompanied by DMX, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Treach from Naughty By Nature, and more.
The TV show will tell the story of two ATF agents who go undercover, partnering with the FBI and the ATL Police Department. Posing as music moguls, the agents will have the one goal – to destroy the crime ring, ran by one of the world’s most prolific recording artists of the 90′s, “Sugar Key”.
The series for the first season will be shot entirely in Atlanta.
“Seeing the story resonate with so many of the most legendary Hip-hop artists of all time really affirmed that we have something special here,” DeBlasio said in a press release.
