Quavo And Takeoff Drop New Album As Duo

Quavo and Takeoff present their new album as a duo “Only Built For Infinity Links” under the monikers Unc and Phew.

The project is the first that comes from Migos as a duo after they “splitted” ways with Offset in the begining of the year after still unannounced circumstances.

Huncho and Takeoff presented their Unc and Phew monikers back in May with the release of couple of singles such as “Hotel Lobby“, “Us vs them” and “Big Stunna“.

“Only Built For Infinity Links” comes with 18 new tracks and features from long-time collaborator Gucci Mane, Cash Money’s boss Birdman, Young Thug, Gunna Youngboy NBA, Mustard and Summer Walker.

Speaking for their new album with Complex, the rap duo revealed the inspiration behind the art work and the title. The cover image of the LP is influenced by OutKast’s Stankonia. The album’s title comes with a story of Quavo meeting Raekwon who released his “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx”in 1995 and influenced generations including the Migos.

“One night, we’re out at a little sports bar, and Raekwon walks straight in the building,” Quavo recalled. “So I went up and talked to him and just let him know that we appreciate what he’s done for the culture and what he did for us as a group, and that as we branch off as a duo, we’re still following in his footsteps. We asked for his blessing, and he was with it and said he loved what we did. It’s been genuine ever since.” Quavo said in interview with Complex.
