After Black Thought and Questlove headlined the fest, Lil Baby’s performance and few more artists kept the atmosphere heated for the fans. Around 6:30 p.m. while 21 Savage was taking over the crowd, the show was interrupted, by the stampede for like an hour.

The report reveals that not only the stress caused has remained after the incident. As the outcome of the stampede are five people who were injured and taken to the hospital. Authorities say that there was no gun threat on the site, but false alert.

Eyewitnesses say that the threat was completely possible because of the weak security measures at the event.

This year’s Roots Picnic appears to be one of the biggest so far with over 25 000 attendees, equipped with three stages, game rooms, rest spots and cooling zones. The one-day festival marked the 20 years since the release of the “Things Fall Apart” album by The Roots exposed to the world in 1999.
