Swizz Beatz thinks today’s rappers should give it back to the founders of hip-hop, who paved the way for all the new artists. According to the multi-platinum hitmaker, rappers should pay “taxes” to all the OGs that started it all and made it possible for this genre to reach the current state.
In a recent online interview with Joe Budden for Beatz’s Zone Live Radio, Swizz shared few words for the viral “Verzuz” battles. Alongside with highly-anticipated Ludacris-Nelly duel, Beatz revealed his wife Alicia Keys and John Legend will also face-off on IG live soon.
While the topic was still on the talks, Swizz shared his wish to witness a battle between Rakim and Big Daddy Kane. When such names in the rap music were involved in the conversation, Swizz shared his idea.
“We need to be paying taxes to the creatives of hip-hop that gave us freedom of speech to go forward.” Swizz said.
The producing mogul Swizz Beatz offered a million dollars “taxes” to each one of the people considered as founders of hip hop.
