Top Dawg Entertainment artist and Grammy-winning music engineer MixedByAli announced he has bought the iconic Death Row Records Studio.
The 31-year-old Los Angeles-bred TDE engineer, who mixed projects for Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Snoop Dogg, the late Nipsey Hussle and more, announced the good news via his Instagram page, where he expressed the excitement from his new facility.
“This is the most exciting news I’ve announced since the birth of my daughter.” the caption starts. “This is Death Row Records former studio, where they recorded and mixed @drdre ‘The Chronic 2001’, @snoopdogg ‘The Dog Pound’, Tupac’s ‘All Eyes On Me’ and countless other records that shaped my childhood and inspired me to create the music I make today, being from the west coast. I’m proud to announce, this is now my facility.” Ali wrote in IG.
The ’90s was the prime time of Death Row Records and with releases such as Tupac – All Eyez On Me, Dr. Dre – The Chronic, Snoop Dogg – Dogg Food, the label left its blueprint in the hip-hop scene for so long.
In his announcement, MixedByAli also revealed he plans to do some renovations starting next and in the coming months.
“We’re looking forward to harnessing the energy & history from this studio and continue pumping out nothing but timeless hit records just as they did in the 90’s.”- MixedByAli wrote.
