The Best Hip-Hop Albums Last Month, January 2020
Even the most educated and up-to-date hip-hop fans need a guide now and then for the best hip-hop albums and projects, recently released. January 2020 happily has a lot to offer to the most impatient of us. Here is where to turn your head to when you chose your favorite music this month.
Eminem and “Music to be Murdered By” is one of his most successful albums to see the light. Though it met many controversies and scandals and also been doomed by many people, it lives its own life now. The project is at the same time fresh and gives us more of Eminem. What we mean is his incredible and impossible not to recognize the style. Basically, he is unique and one of a kind and that can only bring him good vibes. The public is willing to forgive him for everything so they can hear some Eminem. The unexpected collaborations with new wave rappers like Juice WRLD and Young M.A. are also something that makes the album unique, having in mind it’s Shady.
Another work from a real star in the business is the Revenge of the Dreamer 3 by J. Cole and the Dreamville team. The album has the same name as the previous one, but it is directors’ edition which makes it really unique and a good piece to have. When you hear it also has many bonus tracks you will see yourselves streaming it.
The list of the best albums to come out in January is not only full old names. It also has several breakers like: “Please Excuse Me For Being Anti Social” by Roddy Ricch is not so deep in the words, but it manages to represent the uniqueness and the abilities of the rapper. Roddy proves himself as one of the most outstanding names in the game right now, a clear sign for this is his album topping the Billboard 200 chart for several weeks.
Mac Miller, though not being among us, also found his place in the chart. Circles album is very emotional and will make you think about a lot of things. The LP was part of a trilogy that Mac planned to create. The album was announced and released by Miller’s estate and it’s really worth it. More about the album here.
Moneybagg Yo continues to surprise and “Time Served” is a 100% formula for success. With features like DaBaby, Lil Baby, Future and many more, including Megan Thee Stallion the project can provide you a nice time spent close to the speakers.
Lil Wayne finally rejoiced his fans with the long-awaited and almost forgotten “Funeral” album, which was announced back in 2016. Tunechi gives 24 tracks fulfilled with a variety of features, including the late XXXTentacion.
Redman also surprised the world with his “3 Joints EP” that came like out of nowhere. The video for one of the tracks “Slap Da Shit Outcha” brings positive vibes and humorous footage.
Yo Gotti kicks off the year on a high note as well, dropping his 9th studio effort “Untrapped” where the rapper defines the full-length project as a new beginning, pointing out his life path so far, overcoming the sacrifices and looking forward to better days. Fulfilled with rap stars, the LP serves as a come back for Gotti after his latest release in 2017.
