Drake surprised us with the release of his “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” on Friday. The project’s announcement came just a few hours before the tracks hit the streaming services.
With 14 songs in the “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” Drake gifts his fans with some new music and already released tracks like “War”, “Toosie Slide” and “Chicago Freestyle”.
For his latest music effort, Champagne Papi taps his “Life Is Good” collaborator Future, Young Thug, Favio Foreign among others.
The cover art for the project has a deeper meaning than you thought. With the back cover, Drake pays homage to his late friend also OVO affiliate Anthony “Fif” Soares who was shot and killed back in 2017.
The “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” came unexpectedly for the fans, but that’s not the only good news. Drake revealed his next LP comes this summer 2020, so the DLDT is just a warm-up. Hours after the official release, the Toronto rap star gave fans a taste of what’s coming this summer with a short preview of new music.
