Now, after FX’s team press conference became clear that the “Menace II Society” co-director came up with the title of the five episodes.
“Outlaw: The Saga Of Afeni And Tupac Shakur”.
With the strong, deep and unique mother-son bond between Afeni and “MC New York”, there will be a lot to see in the new documentary.
According to the sources, Allen Hughes granted access to the full package of Tupac’s legacy, including some unreleased tracks. With the help of Shakur’s estate and people close to the late rapper and his mother, the director will re-create the life, the ideas that both Afeni and Pac believed in. The main goal of the new Tupac documentary is to share to the audience the message from mother and her son, a message for justice, freedom and equality.
More about the director.
Allen and his brother Albert joined forces back in 1993 to create “Menace II Society”. Pac was in the cast for the main role. After some misunderstanding and unfortunate juncture, 2Pac was fired from the cast, which later led to the brothers being assaulted by the “All Eyez On Me” rapper. After the accident, Shakur was given 15 days of jail time for an assault case.
Hughes is also well-known with his spectacular works on some of the most outstanding movies related to hip hop. In 2017 he also handled production of “The Defiant Ones”, a documentary about the careers of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine in the harsh music business.
