Founded back in the 1984, it’s been 35 years since the label Def Jam Recordings producing artists and turning them into hit makers.
The long history of the company reveals that many of the legendary solo or group artists in different genres of the music started their careers with Def Jam such as Beastie Boys, LL Cool J back in 1984 and so on to Nas, Kanye West, Desiigner, YG, Dave East, 2 Chainz, Tyga and too much big names to mention them all.
The record label ways were navigated by seven different company presidents through the years. Including one of the remarkable rappers of the time, who paved the way in rap music and is still kickin’ it as the richest one – Jay-Z.
“99 Problems” artist was on top of Def Jam for the period 2005 – 2007.
The current boss in there is the experienced manager, Shady Records co-founder, Paul Rosenberg.
In a recent press conference Paul Rosenberg announced that the 35 anniversary will be celebrated with new project crafted by the young artists of the record label. A project to define the “new direction” of the company.
The compilation named “Undisputed” fits great to the music industry giant and it will be released in March, 2019. Including 17 artists from the label. But that’s not all, the release of the collaboration album will be supported with 8 series of “Undisputed” documentary.

The EVP of Def Jam Recordings Steven Victor expressed his excitement from involving all these new artists into project that marks the label legacy.
