Lil Wayne Says Working With Drake Inspires Him To Rework His Verses

In celebration of the tenth anniversary of Lil Wayne‘s ninth studio album The Carter IV (a very complicated anniversary but still), the rapper took part in a special interview on Twitter. The Q&A is called Ask Wayne, where Lil Tunechi spoke about working with Drake and more.

During this kind of interview, it is always usual to ask an artist for the inspiration he or she got. Because every genre and art – music, drawing, acting, and so on – need a muse or an inspiration to be productive.

People also were interested to know if Wayne received a verse so good, that made him go back immediately and change his verse before he decides that one is the best.

The answer Wayne gave was short and he did not think much before it. He said: “The answer is the same person every time and that person is Drake.

Everything Drake sent back, I always have to go back and [redo],” Weezy added, explaining the fact that he decides to remake the same track over and over until it goes out in its best shape.

Drake’s upcoming project Certified Lover Boy may gift us with a collaboration between the two of them, which will be more than a thumb up for Lil Wayne’s work and quality.

The Carter IV album from Lil Wayne was released in August 2011. It has always been accepted as a consequence of The Carter III, which was released in 2008. The reason why there was so long period between the two connected projects is that Wayne himself denied to hurry up and just make a new album. Again he wanted the thing to be good enough, perfect, so he will not drop the level.

Both albums were very successful when it comes to sales as well as critics. The release of The Carter IV was just before the scheduled appearance of Lil Wayne at the MTV Video Music Awards the same month in 2011.
