The new joint album by MF DOOM and Czarface Super What? is already a fact.
The collaborative project with Czarface (hip-hop group formed by Inspectah Deck, 7L and Esoteric) serves as the first posthumous release from the late, legendary MF DOOM since his death in December 2020.
The project is a follow-up of MF DOOM and Czarface’s first collaboration “Czarface Meets Metal Face” released back in 2018.
The new album consists of 10 new songs and features DMC, Kendra Morris and Del the Funky Homosapien. According to the details revealed by Esoteric on his Instagram page, the album was recorded, mastered and finished back in the summer of 2020.
“Czarface & MF DOOM: “Super What?” was recorded and slated to drop in April of 2020. When COVID-19 struck and the world stopped, we chose to pull it, focus on family, and fine tune a few elements on it. What you’ll be hearing was finalized, mixed & mastered in the summer of 2020, and it’s our honor and privilege to share it with you Friday. I speak for everyone involved when I say we were incredibly fortunate to have collaborated with DOOM…he was a one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-duplicated emcee, producer, and visionary. We wish peace and healing to his family, friends and everyone touched by the gifts he shared with the planet. MF DOOM FOREVER,” Esoteric wrote.
